It would be impossible to say that you LIKE “deep house” without owning any records or remixes by Larry Heard, aka the “Miles Davis of House Music”. Inspired in part by George Clinton, who’s output included Parliament, Funkadelic and the P-Funk Allstars, all signed to other labels, he’s recorded a massive catalogue under MANY pseudonyms like Blakk Society, Disco-D, Gherkin Jerks, Lossefingers, The It, The Housefactors, Trio Zero and fittingly Mr. Fingers. Heard’s career started with the formation of Chicago House group Fingers Inc alongside Robert Owens and Ron Wilson. Early in our DJ careers, we were introduced to Mr. Fingers’ kinetic video for the lead 1992 single “Closer” off the album of the same name on MCA Records, and remains a staple in our sets to this day.
